Seeing green
For over a century, The Breakers has been synonymous with world-class golf. Our two distinctive courses—the state’s oldest and a newly reimagined championship layout—blend heritage, challenge, and beauty, exclusively for resort guests and club members.
Courses & Programs
Florida’s oldest golf course, the Ocean Course has been nurtured by The Breakers for more than a century. Originally designed by Alexander H. Findlay in 1897, it was reimagined in 2018 by acclaimed golf course architect Rees Jones. The renovation honors its seaside heritage while enhancing playability for modern golfers, blending preservation with innovation—a reflection of The Breakers’ own philosophy.
A rich variety of contours, shapes and depths, new salt-tolerant grass, and distinctive water features bring the course to life. According to Jones, “every hole has a different little twist and different set of details.” Inspiring players of all levels, the course is known for its manicured landscapes, challenging variety, and occasional glimpses of the Atlantic.

Just 10 miles from the resort, the championship Rees Jones Course offers a modern complement to the historic Ocean Course. Originally built in 1968, it reopened in 2022 after an extensive renovation by its namesake architect, Rees Jones. The result is one of the premier golf experiences in the Southeast—designed for golfers of every skill level.
Gentle contours, subtle elevation changes, and manicured fairways enhance the course’s natural terrain, allowing for flexible play and a variety of shot options. Jones’ redesign introduced improved bunkering, regrassed fairways, and refined irrigation for better water control and conservation. With every detail considered, the course offers a challenging yet enjoyable experience in a lush, scenic setting.
